Ahh… The clear blue sky… So peaceful, so serene. Wait! What’s that?! Is that a bird, is that a plane? No, it’s marketing!
Yup, marketers will go anywhere, literally anywhere create an impactful campaign. And the next destination is the sky. Because even brands need air support!
So, what have the brands done to capture the vast blue expanse? That’s what we’re here to find out!
And so, ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seat belts as Captain Cool Gai and his moo-dy flight crew take off into the marketing stratosphere!
India’s iconic soft beverage brand, Thums Up launched an exciting campaign called “Toofan: The Thums Up Branded Exclusive Chartered Plane” as part of the “World Cup ka Toofani Tour” for the ICC T20 World Cup.
This campaign featured cricket legends Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag, encouraging consumers to participate. The unique twist? Fans could scan a Thums Up pack and get a chance to win a seat on the luxury Toofan plane!
The lucky winners would fly aboard this specially curated aircraft to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Games in the West Indies.
How does an airline show that it has a really powerful workforce, with over 44% women driving it forward and the highest number of female pilots for any airline in the world? Ask IndiGo!
This Women’s Day, they’ve adorned the walls of Guru Dronacharya Metro Station in Gurugram with spectacular murals. These vibrant artworks, crafted by renowned artist Anpu Varkey, depict the women of IndiGo fearlessly taking on the world, one flight at a time.
So, next time you’re at the Guru Dronacharya Metro Station (close to where the ants office is!) take a moment to admire these inspiring murals. They’re not just art; they’re a celebration of women - every day, everywhere.
And while in the air, a subtle badge reminds us of the real fuel powering IndiGo’s operations.
All Nippon Airways (ANA), in a stroke of intergalactic genius, decided that their planes needed a dash of cosmic flair. So, they summoned the Force (or maybe just a talented design team) and adorned their aircraft with Star Wars characters.
Two aircraft of ANA’s fleet got paint jobs inspired by the iconic droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.
This made ANA stand out in a crowded sky, attracting passengers who wanted more than a cramped seat and peanuts. Whether you were a Jedi, Sith, or just a regular traveller, flying ANA felt like you were about to embark on an adventure among the stars.
Just imagine the pilot announcement: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard the ANA Star Cruiser. Our destination? A galaxy far, far away… or maybe just Tokyo.”
Indeed, the aviation industry has soared beyond the stratosphere when it comes to marketing and branding.
But here’s the secret: branding and marketing know no bounds. They’re not confined to a billboard or a social media post. They can even be cruising at 30,000 feet. All you need is a little imagination.
So, next up the Moon? Oh, wait, that has already been done!
